The Chapmans Peak Hotel at the grand age of a century and a bit, is situated at the foot of the world famous Chapmans Peak Drive in the picturesque village of Hout Bay. The hotel currently offers conferencing and banqueting facilities, a well known seafood restaurant with a sea-view terrace and accommodation for 20 guests. A complete new wing to the hotel is currently under construction adjacent to the current hotel and is scheduled for completion in early 2008.
Accommodation
We proudly present 21 new rooms and 2 magnificent penthouse suites, a mere stone’s throw from the beach. These new spacious rooms will boast spectacular views of Hout Bay beach and surrounds, widely regarded as the most picturesque bay in South Africa.
The rooms feature flat-screen television sets with satellite TV, high –speed internet access, air-conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar facility, safe, telephone, shaving plugs & hair dryer, international plugs etc.
Third person sharing can be accommodated in the deluxe sea view and penthouse suites on sleeper couch. Cots will be available for infants.
These contemporary and modern new rooms adjoining the charming historical building combine to create a unique luxurious boutique hotel at the sea.
Conference and Banqueting
The new conference and banqueting facility, situated in the historical part of the hotel, has rapidly become a favourite choice, given its unique location that inspires creativity and team building. This ideal venue is only a 20 minute drive from Cape Town and 40 minute drive from Cape Town International Airport.

The restaurant is well-known for the best Calamari in Cape Town enjoyed on the large sun-drenched terrace, with breathtaking views of the bay and beach. Calamari at the Chapmans Peak was voted as "one of top 20 things to do in Cape Town".
The Chapmans Peak Restaurant was established over 30 years ago. It has become the grand old lady of outdoor seafood restaurants in Cape Town, with decades of worldwide reputation for its famous calamari and seafood. The sun-drenched terrace, ideal for those hot summer days and lingering sunsets, has spectacular view of the beach, Atlantic Ocean and harbour activities in the background. As for the chilly days, enjoy the welcome warmth of the fireplaces indoors.
Drop in for a drink; wine aplenty, local and imported beers on tap and all the variety of drinks you can imagine are on offer to seduce your taste buds or book a table for a delicious meal. The restaurant inside will take you back to an era almost forgotten, with its wood finishes and pictures from the past. Take a stroll into the wine cellar and choose your favourite bottle of vintage red wine or peruse the extensive wine list to accompany your meal. The menu offers a variety of seafood items from West Coast Lobster (crayfish), Prawns and Fresh Fish or combinations thereof. The house specialty being succulent Calamari, served in the pan, renowned for being the most tender and tastiest Calamari in the World.
Seafood might be the specialty of the restaurant, but grilled steaks and succulent salads are also on offer. The Portuguese Steak, a signature dish, along with Calamari as one of the most popular dishes on the menu.
The Cigar Bar & Lounge

From the moment you walk through the door, you will feel like part of our family. Warm leather sofas invite you to take your time and relax. Enjoy the warmth of the fire place during the cooler months or enjoy the breath taking view across the bay and beach on those balmy evenings.
The Chapmans Peak Hotel is also a great spot to enjoy "a Cocktail at the Sea" on our sun drenched terrace.
The Cigar Bar is a favourite location for watching big screen TV sporting events, with a great atmosphere.
Open from 16h00 until 11.30pm every evening, except on Saturdays and Sundays when the bar opens at 12h00.
Comida Restaurant and Bar
The restaurant is situated next to the Chapmans Peak hotel and serves contemporary fusion cuisine, where the Pacific Rim meets the Mediterranean. The deck also offers spectacular sea and mountain views.
The function room on the first floor is an ideal venue for parties, celebrations and dinner dances. The 200 Sq M room with spectacular views over the bay, can accommodate up to 100 guests, and is transformed for every function.
Open daily for lunch and dinner in summer months and only dinner for winter months. Breakfast is served on the weekends.
Wine Boutique and Deli
Selection ‘Top Wine Retailer’ by Wine Magazine, the wine boutique features a large selection of local and rare wines, Ports, Liquerers, Imported Beers & Cigars. It also has one of the largest selections of malts in Cape Town. Guests can send their favourite wines home, using the Export Facility.
The small deli allows you to combine food and wine, featuring a range of local and international delicacies, including cheeses. Best home-made ciabatta bread in town! And if you looking for ‘biltong’ (African Sushi), look no further for the tastiest beef.
