Wedding Facilities
One of the many facilities at the Coach House which is ideal for weddings is the croquet lawn area, and the romantic gazebo next to it. The emerald green croquet lawn has a stunning view down the valley to farmlands and mountains beyond. Surrounded by the intensely colourful lush sub tropical hotel gardens and a stand of fragrant roses, this is a setting that is perfect both during the day and after dark, when it can be floodlit.
The gazebo is quaint and romantic. Perfect for the couple and the minister conducting the ceremony, as they would be elevated from the wedding guests seated on the croquet lawn. It can easily be decorated with sheer drapes of fabric for a dramatic effect. The croquet lawn is situated away from the main buildings of the hotel, and is flanked on one side with a paved parking area that leads to some of the rooms.
For small numbers of guests – up to 20, The Old Workshop is the perfect setting for a wedding reception. For larger groups of up to 120 guests, The Fallen Tree room has a light and airy ambience set in the gardens with views of the valley. Both rooms are air-conditioned.
A newly renovated charming church is available on the estate, and can seat up to 100 guests on beautifully hand-crafted pews.
Activities Whether you are energetically inclined, or prefer a leisurely pace, the Coach House offers something for everyone. The hotel has a sparkling cool pool and a heated pool at the spa.
An 18-hole golf course is situated nearby, as well as a nine-hole golf course. A gentle game of croquet on the floodlit lawn or billiards in the snooker room can be enjoyed.
The 560 hectare estate, incorporates fifteen hectares of beautiful gardens which offer bird watching, tree spotting, nature walks, hiking and mountain bike trails. These can also be enjoyed in the adjacent New Agatha and Wolkberg Forestry Reserves.
The Old Workshop and Fallen Tree function rooms cater for gatherings from two to 120 guests, and are ideal for any occasion, including weddings and conferences. The charming Broken Anvil Wine Cellar is available for private functions and parties.
The Cheviot Church on the estate is a quaint country chapel to enhance the venue as an ideal wedding choice.
