Situated in the beautiful malaria free Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, Idube Safari Lodge (self-catering lodge) bring to you a relaxed African environment where the true beauty of the area can be enjoyed. The Waterberg Biosphere Reserve is a newly proclaimed UNESCO area and posesses a haunting splendor and beauty. It is home to a great variety of habitat types and ecosystems. With us you will encounter open grassland areas surrounded by broken broad-leafed woodland and plant communities inhabiting rocky outcrops. This all leads to a wonderful variety of game, bird and insect species.
Idube Safari Lodge
Idube Safari Lodge is a perfect self catering camp for people wanting to enjoy the Waterberg Bushveld at its best. With maps, we provide, you can walk where you want or take yourself for a game drive. Mountain bikes are also good fun to get up close to the animals.
Idube Safari Lodge has 2 one-roomed ensuite chalets and the camp can sleep 6 people comfortably. All bed linen is supplied and there is a safe in the chalet. There is a patio/afdak covered area between the chalets.
The kitchen has everything needed to enjoy yourself. Cutlery and crockery are supplied as well as a fridge, kettle, three leg black pots and other pans and pots.
At the tree trunk encircled braai area, enjoy evenings around the blazing fire listening to the night's noises. Fire wood is supplied.
In the event of bad weather or cooking something different there is a Jet Master Gas braai in the camp.
The camp is serviced once a day but more servicing can be arranged.
The whole camp is open into the bush so lookout for the nosey brown hyenas coming to greet the new guests or the family of bush babies that come out at night to play and eat.
Additional Infomation
Temperature: In summer the days are hot with warm evenings - the temperatures can range between 20°C and 45°C. In winter the days are warm and cool evenings - the temperatures range between 5°C - 25°C.
Visas: Please check if you require visas for South Africa.
Road Transfers: We can arrange airport transfers as well as other point to point transfers
Vaccinations: Please check if you need any vaccinations.
Malaria:We are in a malaria free area, so you don't have to worry about malaria medication.
General
The Lodges are situated 2-3 hours north of Johannesburg in the Limpopo Province between Vaalwater and Melkrivier.
