Orange Valley Guest Farm is the perfect halfway stopover or country retreat for the nature-lover and discerning traveler. The farm lies within walking distance of the Orange River just below the Gariep Dam Wall on the border between Northern Cape, Eastern Cape and Free State. Tar roads take you straight to our door where you'll be greeted by Malcolm and Angela Southey with typical Karoo hospitality.

Adventures
River rafting - 2 hours with grades 1 - 3 in inflatable 2-man "crocs". Lots of smiling guaranteed!
Horse trails - Appaloosa horses saddled with Western gear. Beginners and experienced rider trails available.
Fly-fishing - Yellowfish and Barbel in Orange River and Gariep Dam. Vast river frontage.
Excellent bird-watching.
Game viewing at the neighbouring Oviston Nature Reserve.
Conference & Team Building
Small to medium conferences of up to 18 people can be accommodated. White board or flip chart and TV are available.
Gariep Dam's Wall
The giant Gariep Dam, completed in 1971, was mainly built for generating hydro-electric power and irrigation. It is the largest dam in South Africa, with a shoreline of about 435 km, and the dam wall is 88m high and 914m long.
The huge amount of 1.73 million cubic meters of cement was used during the building of the dam wall. Guided tours through the dam wall includes an interesting slide show in its well equipped audiovisual room, as well as a walk through the 13.2km of tunnels and more than a thousand steps that leads to its foundation on the Orange River.
