Conveniently situated within easy access of the N1 it is the ideal stopover on the way to / from the North & the Kruger Park (Phalabowa & Punda Gates). The Lodge is an ideal base to visit the Nylsvlei Nature Reserve and the Doorndraai Dam, both nature reserves run by the Regional Parks board. The Makapan Valley (a world heritage site), a Crocodile farm, horse riding, quad bikes are all in the vicinity.
The Lodge is located within easy access on a tar road from Naboomspruit, which is on the edge of the Waterburg Mountains. Naboomspruit is an ideal stopover for travelers on the N1, either North or South, as it is situated with easy access to the highway.
Accommodation
Spacious chalets set in the beautiful gardens of the Lodge offers facilities for those who want either self-catering, bed and breakfast or dinner bed and breakfast. All chalets boast a fully equipped kitchen. They all have colour televisions, comfortable sofas as well as complimentary tea and coffee. All chalets are ensuite and accommodate different numbers of people. San & Tarantaal Chalets are ideal for couples with four separate rooms set on two levels with the bedroom (with air conditioning) upstairs on a balcony overlooking the lounge. Syringa Chalet is a very large chalet sleeping from 2 - 6 people with two double beds, one single and a put me up bed and is disabled friendly, Jacaranda is ideal for families with one double, one single and one bunk bed.Towels & bed linen is supplied.
The guesthouse has 3 large, spacious double or twin rooms that overlook the gardens and are equipped with complimentary tea and coffee.
All chalets and rooms are available on a single basis with no supplements Monday - Thursday.
Facilities
Paradise Lodge is a birder friendly establishment as it forms part of the Nylsvlei Floodplain.
The Unique Nyl Floodplain is the largest inland floodplain in South Africa, it extends from Modimolle (Krankop) Mountain near Nylstroom tin the South to Potgeitersrus some 60 KM further North reaching 16000 hectares when fully inundated. The variety of underlying geological formations support a unique biodiversity of plant and animal communities. Typical bushveld savanna surrounds the grassveld floodplain. Paradise Lodges falls within this floodplain making it an ideal base for birding at the Lodge and in the area. Enjoy the bushveld either on foot, Mountain bike or in game viewing vehicles and spot game and birds.
Paradise Lodge boasts a heated pool (by solar panels) that overlooks the veld. The Lapa that is situated next to the Pool is an ideal way to relax and to watch the birds and game that come to a water hole close by. DSTV is available in the Lapa for sporting events.
The boma is a great way to relax in front of an open fire whilst you braai your steaks, wors etc.
Paradise Lodge has a games room equipped with a free play pool table, table tennis and darts. Chess and playing cards are available at reception if you so desire.
Paradise Lodge has a restaurant available for its guests. Tea / Coffee and snacks are available during the day and an Al a Carte menu is available for the evenings.
Conference & Function facilities
Our conference facility is designed for groups wanting to get out of the office to do some serious training or brain storming in a relaxed bushveld setting. As we are located only 2 hours from Joburg (1.5 hours Pretoria) Paradise Lodge is the ideal setting for an out of office seminar.
