Set in acres of pristine indigenous forest, on South Africa's Garden Route, Teniqua Treetops brings you an experience that may be quietly life-changing. Swim in the cola-coloured water of the remote and unspoiled Karatara river, picnic on its beautiful banks and explore the deep forested gorge. Or chill out on the wooden deck of our swimming complex perched high on the hill, the converted farm dams are fun for both kids and adults.
All our treehouses are self-catering with the emphasis on environmental preservation and the maximum use of natural products and materials in construction and functionality. You'll love the peace and quiet, the sounds of the forest, river and bird song, and on occasion, the sound of the sea.
Accommodation
Luxurious, self-catering, tented tree houses offer a unique opportunity to sleep, eat and shower up in the canopy of the forest, surrounded by birdsong and butterflies.
Built on hand crafted platforms and situated in carefully chosen beauty spots, they have comfortable tented bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens and leafy luxury bathrooms. The ultimate romantic holiday or family fun in the sun.
Some of the grand, old trees provide the focal point for each of
the eight, unique and individually crafted units.
All the self-catering tree houses are set in quiet and secluded spaces of their own, with wonderful views of the surrounding forest and the gorge that leads down to the Karatara river. Careful attention has been paid to the positioning of the treehouses, each site carefully chosen to limit environmental impact in this private nature reserve.

In addition to your own tree house, you'll find that all your basic needs are taken care of at Teniqua Treetops. It's a real experience staying with us, one that you ought to take time to settle into, just chill out and enjoy doing very little...
To help you into the right frame of mind, each tree house has comfortable seating, indoors and out, braais on the deck and beautiful, unusual bathing or showering facilities, usually with fabulous views. The tree houses are all private and although you can see afar, no-one will disturb your privacy.
On site and close to the homestead, is a family braai area with table and seating, an indoor games room with exercise equipment, table tennis, games etc.
Outside, you'll find a big jungle gym with a swing and a sandpit for the kids. There's also a trampoline to keep them amused.
We have 2 farm dams converted to swimming pools with easy chairs and decks, a great place to sunbathe and cool off.
The smaller dam is a children's pool and it's right in sight of the main pool, so you'll have peace of mind, with kids nearby.
