Situated near Haenertsburg, on Silver Mist Game and Trout Estate, between Polokwane and Tzaneen, our adventure centre with accommodation is an ideal stop over en-route to the Kruger Park or for a family holiday, a corporate team-building getaway or simply for the day.
Accommodation - Thaba-Metsi Chalets
Thaba-Metsi Adventures Silver Mist self-catering chalets of different sizes are nestled in the mountains overlooking three well stocked trout dams.
A game fence with a variety of game encloses the farm. There are 20 stables with American-style ranch paddocks and a petting zoo.
The farm also offers conferencing facilities, a tea garden and all Thaba-Metsi Adventure's activities.
There is also a tented camp with five two-man tents on decks overlooking the dam or bring your own tent and camp alongside the beautiful dam.
Adventure Activities
The guided quad biking adventure takes you on a specially made quad biking trail through the indigenous forests along the Broedestroom River and over the mountain overlooking the scenic Magoebaskloof. 1 hour guided trail @ R220 pp, 2 hour guided trail @ 360 pp
The gecko-tubing trip starts deep in the gorge at the beginning of the Groot Letaba River. This adventure takes you through tranquil crystal clear waters with breathtaking views as well as through some roaring white water rapids. 3 hour trip @ R250 pp
Kloofing in the scenic George’s Valley gorge is for the more adventurous! Explore, float and swim down sections of calm, peaceful water as well as experience bum sliding, rock hopping, hiking and waterfall jumping into breathtaking pools! Not for the feint hearted! Half day trip @ R390 pp
Our abseiling trip descends 30 metres down a smooth rock face into the majestic George’s Valley gorge, landing in the Groot Letaba River, also allowing for swimming and relaxing at the bottom underneath the waterfall. 2 hour trip @ R220 pp
Experience river fly fishing deep in the echoing gorge or exercise dam fly fishing in beautiful surroundings. This includes a clinic for beginners. R75 rod fee, equipment for hire
Our paintball course is situated in the sun-shafted glades of the beautiful indigenous forest. R60 pp including 50 bullets, R30 extra 50 bullets
